Darlaston Year 7 Project HERCULE is an exciting project for children.  Based in schools and Libraries in Britain, Portugal and Ireland children are producing their own Websites.

Culture, Heritage and Environment of local communities are the themes.  The Websites will build into interactive, multiple media sites with content produced by children with help from librarians, teachers and arts workers.

Work on the project started with the development of the First Class Internet Server as a base for the website and to provide communication between partners and children.

The website was established at www.hercule.org.uk in March 1999 and has been developing steadily.

This catalogue has been researched by librarians after consultation with teachers and children and the sites are being evaluated by children.

We welcome any feedback - what do you think?  Please use the feedback facility to let us know.

The most exciting part of the website will be the content produced by the children taking part.

As more material is produced it will be added to the HERCULE Website.  Pictures, photos and text are displayed at present - animations, video clips, sounds and interactive features will be added as the project progresses.
