Houses

"In Dublin there are many houses. There are bungalows, flats, cottages, attached houses and many more. There are many white people living in the houses although there are many other cultures as well. Many houses in Ireland have weather glaze windows and nice doors. Some people live in apartment houses up to seven storeys high. Some are lovely and decorated up so well that they coul d win a prize. Some houses have lovely colours and some have horrible colours. I live in a 2 storey house".

Church

Church of Our Lady of the Assumption

"Building of the church began in 1951 and it was opened on the 12th March 1953. When it was consecrated by the Archbishop of Dublin Most Reverend J.C. McQuaid, The Reverend Canon Troy was appointed Parish Priest. The church seats 2000 and has an overall accomodation for 7000. It cost over £100,000 to build and is constructed of granite and cement blocks. Prior to the opening of the church Ballyfermot had been part of St. Michael's parish, Inchicore". (Jamie)
