Schools and Libraries

"I go to school in St. Gabriel's primary school. The 17 teachers and principal Sr. Mary are very nice. There are lots of children in the school. There are 2 schools beside ours they are St. Raphaels and St. Michaels primary schools as well. I love going to school. It is very good and fun. There are also 2 secondary schools beside the three schools called Kylemore College and the Dominican School. I think all the schools are brilliant in this area. There is also an art college where people attend and learn about animation". (Louise Quinn)

St. Gabriel's School

"The name of the school I go to is St. Gabriel's. There are 17 teachers, 1 principal, 1 secretary, 3 caretakers, 1 P.E. teacher, 1 dancing teacher, 1 drama teacher and 3 office helpers. When we go to school the first thing we do is religion. Then we do maths and after that we do Irish. When we are finished we do English and at the end of the day we do geography and we take down our homework". (Grace Dempsey)

Ballyfermot Library
Adult Library"In Ballyfermot Library there are tonnes of books. Books are very important as they help us to read and write. There are lots of different books from lots of different authors. In our library there is an adult's section and a children's section. There are lots of really good authors who write wonderful books and poems.

You can rent out books for about two weeks but you need a library card or any sort of I.D. e.g. a bill to rent them out. There is a limit for kids, three books. There is no limit for adults and teachers.

The library is right beside a college which is right beside Crazy Prices. There are many different categories to choose from. There are also computers in the adult's part, you have to book to get on them. The different categories for example are art, music, languages, writing etc. Books are wonderful as they help the world to read and write".
